Compressible Flow Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

Compressible Flow Calculator provides a fast and convenient way to determine relations between fluid dynamic properties. It implements one dimensional flow equations for five different sets of relations:

• Isentropic Flow
• Normal Shock
• Oblique Shock
• Fanno Flow
• Rayleigh Flow

Once a value for specific heat ratio, γ, is entered, any property can be input to determine the others, except for in the oblique shock calculator. In the oblique shock calculator, pre-shock Mach number must be an initial input as well as γ. Then only turn angle, wave angle or pre-shock Mach number normal to the flow can be used to find all other properties.

This application provides an alternative to interpolating printed tables or using charts. The equations used are taken from standard aerodynamic texts. Conventional symbols are used for properties such as Mach number, temperature, pressure and density.
